Training with RehAtt, a stimulating Virtual Reality method, improves attention among stroke patients even years after stroke.
In a so-called virtual reality environment, intensive training is done in 3D games, with exercises designed on a scientific foundation to improve attention. The training is intensified with the stimulation of sight, hearing and feeling while the weaker side’s hand is activated and controlling the game using a little robot.
Now, after continually developing the research method, it contains both a diagnostics part and a training part. A computerized test battery gives fast, simple and reliable diagnostics of neglect. (ref) In the same equipment there is now a possibility to measure and assess spatial attention and reaction time. This computerized test battery on a touch screen also gives a chance to evaluate effects of rehabilitation of neglect.
