The European Southern Observatory in Chile caught the shadow of a newfound planet, dubbed LHS1140b, it is located 39 light years from Earth. It is believed to be 40 percent larger than Earth. The discovery is described in a scientific paper published in the journal Nature.


The below artist’s impression video shows an imaginary trip to the exoplanet, which orbits a red dwarf star, and may be the new holder of the title “best place to look for signs of life beyond the Solar System”.
