Art Director and concept artist Kevin Jenkins was kind enough to share some of the concept art and designs he created for ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’.

Born to the blockbuster world of Mr. Lucas and Mr. Spielberg, J. J. Abrams is a “Star Wars” superfan and pop culture savant. As the director of “The Force Awakens,”, he may not have the makings of a world builder like George Lucas, but he returned us to a franchise we recognize with several of the original cast back in their iconic roles as Luke, Leia, and Han.

With the new cast members turning in a good performance, and recognizable faces producing a welcome whoosh of nostalgia. The meeting of old and new provides a respectful middle ground for the spectacular action to unfolds.

the original Star Wars movies are often lauded for its practical effects. However, for the prequel movies, George Lucas took advantage of CGI. J.J. Abrams made more of an effort to follow in the Original Trilogy’s footsteps, he manages to balance CGI and practical effects to an overall greater effect than any of them alone would allow for.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens looks great and sounds even better, courtesy of John Williams galvanic score.
